From October the 2nd to October the 4th, 2017, in Craiova took place the 25th Conference and General Assembly of the Romanian Airport Association, the most important event in the Romanian aeronautical industry.
Considering the fact that the passenger traffic registered a spectacular increase of 30% in the first half of 2017 compared to the same period of last year, the main topics of discussion regarded the development of airport infrastructure, the management of passenger traffic, safety and security in the civil aviation domain. In 2017, the passenger traffic on the Romanian airports will exceed 21 million, overcoming for the first time the population of the country and thusmarking a historic event for the Romanian civil aviation.
The Conference was opened by Mr. David Ciceo, President of the Romanian Airports Association, who highlighted the importance of airports in the regional economic development. The discussions were grouped around five sessions of presentations: “The Development of Airports – 2018-2020”, “Security and Safety of Airports in the International Context”, “Incomes and Services for Airports”, “Modern Technologies for the Airport Industry” and “The Airlines Over the Next Decade “.
The event gathered together more than 150 guests, professionals from Romanian civil aviation, among them, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Dragoş-Virgil Titea, the President of the Dolj County Council, Ion Prioteasa, the Mayor of Craiova, MihailGenoiu, the Director of Air Transport Directorate from the Ministry of Transport, Mihail-Victor lonescu, the General Director of the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority, Armand Petrescu, officials of ROMATSA, of the Romanian Intelligence Service, of Border Police, Transport Police, as well as the traditional partners of the airports.
