PRESS RELEASE – 27th Conference and General Assembly of the Romanian Airports Association

On October 24-25, 2019, the 27th Conference and General Assembly of the Romanian Airports Association will take place in Sibiu.

The event is the most important in the Romanian aviation industry, and the 2019 edition sets a record in terms of the number of participants: over 170 guests, specialists representing airports, institutions and companies in the field debate in Sibiu the most important topics in civil aviation.

The central theme of the Conference is “Airport industry in Romania – Present and Future”, and the debates take place in five panels: “Development of civil aviation in Romania in the next 5 years”, “Future challenges in civil aviation security”, “Services and airport facilities ”,“ Impact of civil aviation on tourism development ”, respectively“ Regulations, technologies and standards in civil aviation ”.

The proceedings of the conference were coordinated by the President of the R.A.A. David Ciceo, who spoke at the opening of the event about the dynamics of increasing passenger traffic at Romanian airports. “In 2018, there was a traffic of 21,858,724 million passengers at the 17 airports in Romania, and estimates show that in the next 15 years the traffic will double. In this context, together with local and national authorities we must find solutions for the development of airport infrastructure, and European funds can be one of the main sources of funding for airport infrastructure projects, “said David Ciceo, President of the Romanian Airports Association and CEO of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport.

“We are interested in the news and issues in the air passenger and freight transport sector, and I am convinced that this edition of the Romanian Airports Association Conference will help shape sustainable solutions and provide us with professional answers to the challenges we and the industry of aviation face. The event organized by the Romanian Airports Association, which celebrates 20 years of activity this year, is attended by representatives of state institutions with responsibilities in the field of civil aviation, general managers of airports and specialists in the aeronautical industry in Romania, but also in countries such as United States, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, etc.
